Synapse 206
provides a warm, friendly venue for some of the best emerging
apparel designers working locally, regionally and
internationally. This is one of my very favorite businesses in
Seattle. Despite the emphasis on more avant-garde designs,
there is something inside for everyone, from thoughtful and
classic jackets to elegant dresses, deconstructed-reclaimed
denim and daring convertible puma sandals pieces. There's also
a selection of delicious local handmade shoes (yay!), small
accessories and jewelry. Now, for my part, I love fresh,
creative and risky designs. But they have to be executed with
the perfectionism of traditional dressmaking and tailoring.
While some sandals labels' pieces are gorgeously finished,
others' look a bit careless. This is, however, more of a
reflection on the work of particular designers and their puma
sandals production teams than on the store. |
